ABOUT ME
I am a distinguished professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. I am in the Scientific Computing group and mostly teach and perform research in this area. For example, I teach Numerical Linear Algebra, Numerical Analysis, Galerkin Methods, and Scientific Computing. I am also an Adjunct Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of California at Santa Cruz.My research area is in numerical methods for partial differential equations (PDEs). Although I mainly work on nonlinear systems of hyperbolic equations, I also work on elliptic and parabolic PDEs.
