Friends and Colleagues, I have a new website. The new website is here: frankgiraldo.wix.com/mysite
I will use this website to gather all of the research work being done in my group. The latest projects include: 1) NUMA - the Nonhydrostatic Unified Model of the Atmosphere, a three-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes solver for use in atmospheric applications, 2) NUMO - the Nonhydrostatic Unified Model of the Ocean, a three-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes solver for use in ocean applications.
Both NUMA and NUMO use hybrid continuous and discontinuous Galerkin methods for the spatial discretization, implicit-type time-integrators, and we are currently working on adding non-conforming adaptive mesh refinement to both models. Both models are currently capable of running on massively parallel computers (using MPI-only and MPI+OpenMP to some extent), and NUMA can also run on hybrid CPU-GPU hardware. NUMA has been tested on the Mira supercomputer (using the entire machine) and on the Titan supercomputer (using roughly 90% of all the GPUs). The papers describing this work can be found at my new website (look for the Publications tab).
I will try to update these posts as often as possible to keep you updated on the status of our work.
Sincerely,
Frank Giraldo
